CROWNS

We offer a range of crowns to disguise and strengthen damaged, unsightly teeth. They are made from very strong tooth coloured materials or gold alloy.

Crowns can help to protect what remains of your tooth when it has been heavily filled or damaged, by strengthening the weakened tooth. They are also known to improve the long term success rate of root fillings therefore we may recommend a crown to protect the investment you have made in a root filling.

To make a crown, an impression of your tooth is taken and our expert technicians produce a tooth shaped crown that fits over your prepared tooth. The crown shade is matched to your natural teeth and blends in seamlessly. It is bonded to your tooth with very strong adhesives so you can rest assured that it will be very secure.

Our crowns are expertly crafted by highly skilled technicians and they look beautifully natural whilst protecting the remaining tooth underneath. Crowns often extend the lifespan of an otherwise vulnerable tooth and allows you to continue to chew and function without worry.

INLAYS/ONLAYS

These hard-wearing restorations can be used in teeth that cannot be repaired with a normal filling. They are custom-made by our expert technicians, from an impression taken of the teeth.

Inlays are bonded within the cavity, whereas onlays cover one or more of the tooth’s cusps or completely cover the biting surface.

They are usually made from tooth-coloured materials, such as porcelain and composite resin, but gold alloy can be used if the damaged tooth is subject to heavy chewing forces.

The process is similar to that for a crown. We remove any areas of decay or old fillings and clean the tooth. We then take an impression and use this to create an inlay or onlay that will fit the cavity perfectly. When this is ready, we check for fit and bond it with a very strong adhesive. Inlays and onlays can last for many years with correct maintenance.

BRIDGES

A bridge is used to replace a missing tooth or teeth. It is a fantastic alternative to a removable denture as it is more discreet and is securely fixed to your own teeth or implants. Bridges are great for restoring your smile and self-esteem. They can also help to improve your eating and speaking ability after the loss of some of your teeth from disease, trauma etc.

The supporting teeth are prepared by removing some tooth tissue to make room for the bridge. Impressions are taken and our expert technicians will craft your bridge. At your second visit your temporary bridge will be removed and your new bespoke bridge with be bonded with a very strong adhesive once we have checked the fit and comfort. Our highly skilled technicians construct your bridge to the correct shade and form so that when it is bonded in place it blends naturally with your own teeth. The method for implant retained bridges is much the same.

There are a variety of different bridge types and we will discuss with you the most suitable options, and alternatives.

DENTURES

We provide dentures crafted from high-quality materials to fill in the gaps left by lost teeth. By fully assessing your mouth, we can give you replacement teeth that will not only look realistic but also fit in with your lifestyle. These can be partial dentures for filling in a few gaps or full dentures to replace a complete set of teeth. Your new dentures can help you to improve the way you speak and eat, they can “fill out” your facial profile after tooth and bone loss, and they can improve your overall confidence .

Your dentures are bespoke to you and your mouth. They are constructed by highly skilled technicians. We will guide you through the different types of dentures available and recommend the most suitable solution for you.

It can take some time to get used to your new dentures, especially if you have a complete set. They may feel strange at first and make eating and speaking difficult, but with practice, they will soon feel fine and function well.

Of course they will require maintenance and eventual replacement, but we will assess your mouth and dentures regularly and advise you.
